In the Swing of Voiceover

I perform voiceover for narration, commercials, phone messaging – you name it. I work from my home studio. And because I’m basically a well-struck 3-wood away from Washington DC, I’m also convenient to professional studios that have ISDN capability. That means I can give you a great read no matter where you’re located.

It sometimes seems as if I have had a microphone in front of my face for most of my life. I was that kid in elementary school who gave the speech in front of the whole school assembly and was the lead character in the 6th grade puppet play. Yes, I was also the Rally Club president in high school.

In college I spent all of my time at the campus radio station. Well, all the time I wasn’t studying, of course! That led to a 20-year career in radio, during which I held every kind of on-air position, from disc jockey to morning sidekick to sports reporter to network news anchor.

I actually lead a double life. In addition to being a voice talent, I’m a PR consultant specializing in writing, editing and proofreading. So I know my way around the written word as well as the spoken word. They say that actions speak louder than words. Well, I happen to think that words can be pretty powerful, too, especially if you get a great read from the right voiceover pro!

When I’m not speaking into a microphone I’m usually bugging my wife and two sons. Or maybe I’m out walking our Australian Shepherd, Bandit. Okay, truthfully, I’m probably out on a golf course somewhere.
